Tempe Foam Roofing
Spray foam and protective coatings for Tempe flat roofs, plus recoats that keep existing foam working.
Flat and low-slope roofs are common on Tempe additions, carports, Arizona rooms and mid-century homes. Spray polyurethane foam goes on as a liquid, expands into one continuous layer with no seams, and can be built up to create slope where water used to pond.
Foam can't sit bare in the sun. Its coating is what protects it, and that coating wears thin over the years. A recoat at the right time is far less work than replacing foam that has been left exposed.
We check the parapets, scuppers and AC stand curbs on every foam job, since those details cause most flat-roof leaks.

Foam sprayed over a prepared roof, shaped to drain.

Cleaned foam rolled or sprayed with a fresh elastomeric coating.

Foam and coating carried up the inside of parapet walls.

Foam tapered toward scuppers and drains to stop ponding.
| What you see | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Chalky, thin white surface | Time for a recoat |
| Tan or brown foam showing through | Coating worn through; recoat soon |
| Pitted, dark or crumbling foam | Damaged foam must be cut out and refoamed |
| Soft spots underfoot | Possible trapped water; we test before deciding |
It depends on the coating and how much sun the roof gets. We inspect and tell you how much coating is left, rather than guessing from the calendar.
Sometimes, if the existing roof is dry and well attached. Wet or loose roofing has to come off first.
They can peck exposed foam. A sound coating discourages it, and we repair pecked spots during a recoat.
White coatings reflect sunlight, which helps keep the roof surface and the room below cooler in summer.
Tell us roughly how big the flat area is and what the surface looks like. We'll inspect and recommend a recoat or new foam.
